These terms and conditions apply to and form part of every contract between Isle of Wight Distillery and its customers.
GIFT WITH PURCHASE
Spend £40 and receive a complimentary Mermaid Spiced Rum 5cl on the isleofwightdistillery.com website. Available from the 31st October 2025 while stocks last.
Please note: This is exclusive to our website. Not valid for orders of Mermaid Winter Gin 70cl purchased from John Lewis, instore and online.
Spend threshold to receive a complimentary gift must be met before postage.
Can be used in conjunction with welcome discount codes as long as order total is £40 with discount.
Free gifts are subject to availability and we are unable process specific requests.
Complimentary gift will be sent to the delivery address on the order, and cannot be sent elsewhere.
We reserve the right to withdraw our offers without notice.
Exclusive to our website. Cannot be redeemed at our Isle of Wight Store, or through any of our customers, including John Lewis.
PRICES AND PAYMENT TERMS
Pricing: All prices are quoted in Pounds Sterling (£). The final price includes all applicable Value Added Tax (VAT) and duty charges. Delivery charges are calculated separately and will be clearly itemised on your invoice/checkout summary.
Payment Requirement: Payment for goods is typically required in full at the time an order is placed.
Payment Methods: Our preferred payment method is BACS transfer. We also accept payment via major credit cards, debit cards, and Direct Debit (for approved account holders).
Withholding Delivery: We reserve the right to withhold dispatch or delivery of any order if there are outstanding balances on your account or if your agreed credit limit has been exceeded.
TRADE CUSTOMER PAYMENT TERMS
The following terms apply only to customers approved for a Trade Account:
MINIMUM ORDER QUANTITY (MOQ)
Orders must meet the specified minimum quantities: a minimum of two cases when purchasing 70cl bottles and ten cases when purchasing miniatures.
FIRST ORDER PAYMENT (PRO-FORMA)
All first-time Trade Customer orders must be paid for on a pro-forma basis. Goods will only be dispatched once payment has been received in full.
CREDIT ACCOUNTS
Subsequent orders may be placed on an agreed credit account, subject to a credit limit determined by The Isle of Wight Distillery.
PAYMENT DUE DATE
Invoices issued to Trade Customers must be paid in full within 30 days from the date the invoice was sent, unless a specific, written agreement for alternative terms has been made with The Isle of Wight Distillery.
INTERNATIONAL TRADE RESALE
Trade Customers are strictly prohibited from reselling products purchased from The Isle of Wight Distillery to trade customers outside of the United Kingdom without prior written authorisation from The Isle of Wight Distillery.
CASH ACCOUNTS
Payment Policy: Due to operational and health considerations, The Isle of Wight Distillery no longer accepts cash payments.
Orders must be pre-paid in full before dispatch, or a credit account (subject to approval) must be opened.
We accept major credit cards, debit cards, or BACS payments.
DIRECT DEBIT
Setup Requirement: Direct Debits must be successfully set up and authorised at least 3 working days prior to placing your first order. Failure to do so may result in the account being placed on hold.
Setup Process: You will receive an email from The Isle of Wight Distillery to complete an online form to provide your preferred bank details.
Data Security: These bank details are securely stored by our third-party payment provider, GoCardless. The Isle of Wight Distillery does not have access to or possession of your bank details, in compliance with data protection laws (GDPR).
PAYMENT SCHEDULE
New Customers: The first payment will be collected 30 days after the first order is placed.
All Orders: Subsequent payments are collected 30 days after the respective order is placed, unless different payment terms have been explicitly agreed upon.
Existing Customers: For existing customers transitioning to Direct Debit, the first collection will be on the date your outstanding invoice is due.
Notification: You will receive an email notification from GoCardless 3 to 5 working days before the amount is due to be debited from your bank account.
EXTRA PAYMENTS
If you make an additional payment by an alternative method, this will be reflected on your account and will automatically reduce the amount collected via Direct Debit.
CHANGES TO YOUR DIRECT DEBIT
The Isle of Wight Distillery cannot manually amend your bank details. You must log into your GoCardless account to make any necessary changes.
PAYMENT ERRORS
We will contact individual customers as soon as possible if we identify any issues with Direct Debit payments.
CANCELLING DIRECT DEBIT
If you wish to cancel your Direct Debit, you must notify The Isle of Wight Distillery at least 28 days in advance.
DELIVERIES
Dispatch Time: We aim to dispatch your order within three to five working days from the day you place your order.
Risk of Goods: The goods are at your risk from the time of delivery.
Delivery Refusal: We may decline to deliver if we believe that it would be unsafe, unlawful, or unreasonably difficult to do so, or if the premises are unsuitable for our delivery vehicle.
Inspection and Notification of Issues (Shortages/Damage): You must inspect the goods immediately upon delivery. If any goods are damaged or not delivered, you must notify us in writing within 48 hours of the delivery taking place or the expected delivery time. Failure to notify us within this period may affect your right to a claim.
RETURNS
Faulty or Incorrect Goods: The Isle of Wight Distillery will accept returns if the goods arrive faulty or incorrect (e.g., wrong item received).
You must notify us of faulty or incorrect goods within 14 calendar days of delivery.
The Isle of Wight Distillery will arrange the collection of the goods and process a replacement or full refund, including delivery costs.
Right of Cancellation (Distance Selling): For all non-trade (consumer) customers purchasing online, you have a statutory right to cancel your contract with us within 14 calendar days of receiving your goods without giving any reason.
Condition of Returns:
To exercise your right to cancel and receive a full refund, the items must be returned in a resaleable condition. This means the items must be unopened and any original seals, labels, or packaging must be intact.

DIVISIBILITY CLAUSE
Trade Account Initial Order: Trade Customers must place an order that complies with the minimum order quantity within the first 30 days of opening an account.
Invoicing: Each delivery made by The Isle of Wight Distillery shall be invoiced separately, and each invoice shall be payable in full in accordance with the agreed payment terms.
COMPETITION TERMS & CONDITIONS
Eligibility: Entrants must be aged 18 or over at the time of entry and be a resident of the United Kingdom (unless otherwise specified).
Prizes: No cash or credit note alternative will be offered in substitution for the competition prize.
Entry: Entries are only accepted via the requested media (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) and must adhere to the prescribed entry conditions.
Winners: Winners will be announced on social media. It is the winner’s responsibility to contact us via direct message or email with their delivery address to claim the prize.
Prize Delivery: Delivery of prizes will usually be completed within 15 days of the winning announcement.
